I'm surprised you don't have any comments on this post! I would expected a lot of harassment, disagreement, and preaching to explain why it's good to protect yourself from the appearance of evil (which by the way, I believe is good judgment!). But I appreciate your candidness, and agree with you that we must stop taking out our brothers and sisters because of their "sinful" lives... or at least "sinful" appearances. Hopefully you haven't had much response because your audience agrees with you! ;)

Good read, you had my attention at Jeff Sandstrom & ladies man in the same sentence. ;-)

I think you are right life & relationships are more than just observing other people & learning what not to do…

Like you I am a sponge and I love taking in as much as possible, researching things online, reading books and then making decisions along the way. Even with the most planning & preperation, sometimes things don’t work out in your favor, but the trick is to learn at every step in your career/ relationship/ life. I think you are very bright, you are cautious , but also you have a passion for learning and that is the most important.

Not every day is a day in the photo album but it’s the hard days that get you from one happy snapshot to the next. If we sit back and look at everyone else’s photo albums, it won’t make an interesting trip down memory lane with our Grand kids 50 years from now.

I must say Jeff, you have the gift of perception. One thing I remember from a course I took by Haddon Robinson at CBC a while back was his comment on illustrations. He shared a story concerning a conversation he had with a president of some seminary. They were sharing their thoughts on some students in a previous homiletical class one had. One comment led to another and one ended up saying, ''I just wish that they learn that one does not have to travel to some far away country in order to gain illustrations. One day of living our own lives could produce far more relevant illustrations than a month abroad.'' The fact of the matter is, you are observant. So much so, that you are able to turn a simple bathroom story to express a very difficult concept that has been dominating our culture and communities for centuries. I admire your perceptual abilities and hope that you may grow in them the more like Paul always commends us to do in any of our gifts.
I just discovered your website today from facebook. I am now excited to spend some time reading through it in hopes to learn something from you. Blessings.

To answer your question, yes that is exactly how women feel. Jeff you are to be commended for allowing the Lord to use an otherwise degrading moment to show His love for ALL humankind.
